What are The Components of a Vacuum System?

Many types of vacuum systems exit now.  But no matter what kind of vacuum application equipment, there is a set of exhaust system. The system is  to exhaust the gas in the pumped container. So it can  obtain the required vacuum conditions in the vacuum container.

For example: a container for vacuum processing, connect it with a vacuum pump with pipes and valves. When the vacuum pump evacuates the container, there must be a vacuum measuring device on the container. It constitutes a simplest vacuum pumping system .

The simplest vacuum system can only obtain the vacuum degree in the low vacuum range in the pumped container. It is necessary to obtain the vacuum degree in the high vacuum range. You can connect a high vacuum pump in the vacuum system.

When you connect a high vacuum pump in the vacuum system, you can usually  add valves to the inlet and outlet of the high vacuum pump. So that the high vacuum pump can maintain vacuum alone.

You can connect a high vacuum pump to an oil diffusion pump. So you can prevent a large amount of oil vapor from flowing back into the pumped container. You can add a trap-water-cooled baffle at the inlet of the oil diffusion pump.

According to the requirements, dust collectors, vacuum relay gauge heads, vacuum soft connection pipes, vacuum pump inlet bleed valves, etc. You can add all of them  to the pipeline. So it can form a more complete high vacuum system.

A vacuum system consisting of more than two vacuum pumps connected in series.  We usually call the low-vacuum pump its pre-stage pump (or pre-pump). And we call the highest-level vacuum pump – the vacuum system.

The main pump, that is, it is the most important pump. The main pump determine the ultimate vacuum and working vacuum in the pumped container.

We call the pipeline between the outlet of the pumped container and the inlet of the main pump – a high vacuum pipeline. And we call the valve at the inlet of the main pump – the main valve.

Usually the foreline pump doubles as a vacuum pump. We call the pipeline from the pumped container to the pre-pumping pump – a pre-vacuum pipeline.

And we call the valve on this pipeline – a pre-vacuum pipeline valve.

We call the pipeline from the main pump outlet to the foreline pump inlet – the foreline pipeline. And we call the valve on this line- the foreline pipeline valve. And we set up the soft connection pipeline to isolate the vibration of the foreline pump.

  The components of vacuum system

In summary, a more complete vacuum system consists of the following components:

  1. Vacuum valve
  2. Connecting pipes
  3. Pumping equipment: such as various vacuum pumps;
  4. Other components: such as traps, dust collectors, vacuum relay gauge heads, gas storage tanks, etc.
  5. Vacuum measuring devices: such as vacuum pressure gauges, various regulations;

The basic content of the vacuum system design. According to the vacuum degree requirements of the pumped container. We select the appropriate vacuum system design plan. We also select and match the pump calculation, too.

We determine the catheter, valve, trap, vacuum measurement components, etc. And we make a reasonable configuration.

Finally, we draw out the vacuum system assembly drawing and parts drawing. We summarize the vacuum system  in one sentence. We use the  exhaust system to obtain the vacuum degree with specific requirements.
