Vacuum drying is to place the dried object in a low vacuum environment, reduce the boiling point of water through the low vacuum environment, so that the liquid water on the surface of the object starts to boil and evaporate rapidly at room temperature, so as to achieve the purpose of rapid drying. Vacuum drying is not affected by the temperature and the shape of the dried object, even if there are deep holes and grooves on the surface of the object, it can also be dried.

Common vacuum schemes for vacuum drying:

Dry vacuum pump (dry screw multi-stage Roots): small volume, low energy consumption, water vapor resistance, expensive.

Water ring roots vacuum unit: large volume, high energy consumption, water vapor resistance, low price.

Oil vane vacuum pump: small volume, low energy consumption, low price, not resistant to water vapor, high pre-treatment requirements, unstable operation, high failure rate.

During vacuum drying, valve 1 and valve 2 are opened, water ring pump is opened, and vacuum pumping is started. When the cavity vacuum reaches – 90kpa, the vacuum gauge gives a signal to start roots pump (roots pump belongs to mechanical booster pump, which cannot be started under atmospheric pressure and needs to be started under vacuum).

Shut off valve 2, then roots pump, then valve 1, then water ring pump.
